Cousances was a French brand known for its enameled cast iron cookware, especially its signature "cocottes." Production began in 1553 at a foundry in the town of Cousances les Forges in northeastern France. After more than 400 years of craftsmanship, the company was acquired by Le Creuset in 1957.
