Over the course of six years, supported by the European Union (EU), this program has successfully established nine district water quality platforms focusing on fluoride and arsenic issues across seven states in India. These platforms have served as robust regional foundations for a network of water quality practitioners, contributing valuable insights and approaches that have bolstered national initiatives such as the Jal Jeevan Mission and the National Programme for Prevention and Control of Fluorosis (NPPCF).

Key successes of the program include capacity-building initiatives, innovative solutions for ensuring safe water, and programmatic support to government bodies, all facilitated by technology integration and collaborative efforts.

Furthermore, this program has enabled INREM to broaden its scope to encompass a wider range of water quality issues. It has laid the groundwork for a cohesive national endeavor aimed at addressing critical emerging challenges in water and health.
